Smaller than I would have liked. Blade is very narrow at most an inch. The hilt is also only plastic, not quality but what you'd expect for $20.

You really do get what you pay for... this stand has a black laquer like finish which was cracked/smashed in several places around the base and tips, so you have to color them in and hope nobody notices. At $14, they aren't going to spend money packaging them against damage and it will cost you just as much to repack and ship back as it did to buy a new one. The hole in the center is only 1.5 inches in diameter, so if you have anything besides a wooden dowel endpiece, it won't fit in the center. The two side pieces are larger with open slots, but the entire set of 3 axes that you use can't be too top heavy toward the front or back, as you have to counter balance it sideways. For axes, there aren't many options for display stands like this, just make sure your pieces will fit and get some black 'india ink' pigment for touch up.

I've had some fun cutting things in half, but the sword comes as unsharpened so you may or may not want to sharpen the blade.
Other than that the Claymore for the price shown is a perfect bargain I've seen around.

(More customer reviews)First, for the price, you know you are getting a stainless steel blade, which is not very good. stainless steel can bend and break so even though this sword is razor sharp, it may not last long if you plan on doing any cutting.
The one I recieved had a loose hand guard on it which worries me because usually when that happens it means the blade could be getting ready to fall out of the handle, especially if its used too much.. So far it has held up ok but I have not used it alot.
Also this sword is an 'ox tail' chinese sword. Ox Tail swords are a bit heavier than other chinese swords so if you are looking for a practice sword this may not be the one for you.
The scabbard is decent, and the blade is very sharp, and it has not fallen apart yet, So I would say for the price its OK.

This is a beautifully simple and classic design, reminiscent of the heavy swords carried by the Gaelic people during the middle ages. These swords often had an openring pommel, which now is associated with their weaponry. The traditional Irish styling makes a wonderful display or costuming piece, or a serviceable athame or ritual knife. 15.75" overall with a 9.5" stainless steel blade, this dagger features pewter toned ring pommel and straight guard. The grip and sheath are both of resin moulded into a pebble-leather texture. The sheath is detailed with pewter toned fittings. This piece is not shipped sharp, and is not sturdy enough for stage or live-steel action, but its graceful and understated design is perfect for costuming, display, or ritual use. (More customer reviews)I bought this sword as a ceremonial sword. I am very well pleased with it. The one I got appears just as in the picture even though it says that it comes with a 'black sheath'. I was actually hoping for a sheath like in the photograph and that's indeed what I got.
The sword is very solid and fits into the scabbard very nicely. The blade is heavy and "appears" to be very sharp visually, however, you can run your hand along it with no fear of being cut whatsoever. It's quite dull except for the very tip which is quite pointed. The blade looks like it could be sharpened and potentially hold an edge. I have no desire to cut anything with this sword as I use it entirely as a ceremonial sword.
I am very well please with this sword for the price. It's hefty with a good balance. In your hand it feels like you could easily take this into battle. It has the feel of a very genuine sword. I'm very pleased to use this as a ceremonial sword.

My son wanted a sword for Christmas based upon the King Arthur legend, and I searched the Internet thoroughly finding that many of them were much higher priced than this one. Nevertheless, I ordered it and I am so happy I did. You could not find a better quality or better looking sword even if you pay four times as much. The gold finish is beautiful, the blade is beautifully engraved, the sword has a very sturdy feel, and it looks totally authentic except the blade is not sharpened -- which is what we wanted. I sought out this website just to let others know about its value, as I found that when you submit an Amazon review on a seller it does not also place the review on the individual product purchased -- it would be much more helpful if it did.

(More customer reviews)First off, let me summarize my review by saying that for the price, this is a great sword. I was attracted to it by the ornate designs and the fact it came with a sheath.
Overall this is a great sword given the price you will pay. (I paid $20, shipping included.) The only real con I have with this sword is that the silver fittings on the sheath don't quite join up correctly. Besides that I am quite happy with it.
There one other review on this sword where they said that their swords blade had a honey like substance on it. I believe what he is referring to is the resin coating which gets put onto the black part of the sheath. I didn't have any on my swords blade, must of been a mistake for his sword only.
I think this sword is definitely worth the $20 price I paid for it.
