(More customer reviews)If these are the Bloodrayne replicas, I weep for the series. However, these are quite a fun purchase, as they seem sturdy enough to actually do some damage. Putting them together when I opened the boxes was a surprise, and while it was tedious trying to put them together with the low-quality allen wrenches provided that strip quickly, it was fun in the sense that you have something to do with the manufacture of your weapons. The handle and arm rest are both plastic, although they seem to be a higher quality plastic than normally found on weapons priced similarly. However, the tacky part is the poorly made velcro (yes, VELCRO) straps that hold the blade onto your arm. My advice: get two thin leather belts you don't mind cutting up, and make your own arm straps. The handle works well, though, and they look wicked when you have them on. If you can find them locally, buy them in a pair if you have some spare cash. Otherwise, don't spend the money it takes to have them shipped to you.

(More customer reviews)i love these swords. they were made so they can be wielded together as a single sword and by that i mean the handles have a flat side and a rounded outside for a grip and magnets in the sword tips to hold them together. everything seems nice except they could have takn more time to insert the magnets so that glue isn't showing and are flush with the blade. they could have also painted the magnets so they were the same color as the swords. they could have also spent more time on the nylon wrapping but what do you expect for this price, i guess... overall i'm still happy with it, just not excited.

(More customer reviews)As the title of this review states, the actual product does not quite match the picture on the website. Rather than the flat brown leather-looking strap handle that appears in the image, mine has a cheap-looking black nylon rope one. The chains used are also different. Rather than the simple chain design in the Amazon.com image, the flail actually comes with twist chains that do not look as authentic to my eye. The oversize shiny rings that connect the balls to the chains and the chains to the handle add to the somewhat cheesy hardware store warrior look. On a much less important note, The chain at the butt of the handle is not bolted bolted or riveted to the handle as pictured, but rather passed through a hole in the handle.
Not a terrible prop/decorative item and still pretty cool to have around the house, but certainly not the awesome flail that you see in the picture.

Oh well, my blunder. Anywho, ASSUMING both Amazon and BudK are selling the same item, I have to say this is a pretty nifty weapon. The blade arrived already sharpened, which baffled me because normally just the tips are sharp unless you buy a katana or ninjato for $500 or more. The throwing knives are pointy to say the least and will stick into whatever you throw them at. The shuriken are not sharp. Contrary to popular belief, shuriken were not primarily intended as a killing weapon, but rather as a secondary weapon that sometimes played a role supportive to a ninja's main weapon, usually the sword or spear. Shuriken were primarily used to cause either nuisance or distraction. (ex. Targets were primarily the eyes, face, hands, or the feet, the areas most exposed by a samurai's armor. The shuriken would sometimes be thrown in a way that cuts the opponent and become lost, later causing the opponent to believe that they were cut by an invisible swordsman). The weight of the ninjato is nicely balanced. Its light enough that even my wife can use it properly and durable enough to be put through rigorous tests. In short, if you got 50 bones you wanna spend on a sword, I highly suggest this piece.

(More customer reviews)this sword really does suck. im a sword collector and i currently have six swords including this sword. 1st of all, its not worth yur time or $. 2nd of all, the wrapping sucks. when i first got it and took it out of the box, the wrapping was all scwered up and messy. lastly, the blade and the guard are so loose you cant pick it up without it wobbling all over the place. the pictures always show that the sword looks good, and it does look pretty cool (in the picture) but they never tell you how bad the wrapping is and stuff. also, the sword doesnt even fit in the wooden scabard!! that's what really made me mad becoause i was thinking id just hang it up on my wall, but the stupid sword doesnt even fit in the scabard that was made for it! this sword really sucks and i dont recommend it. i was thinking of just taking out the blade and i could probably make a better sword from household materials.

(More customer reviews)im not a sword enthusiast as most that purchase this type of item are; however i got it as part of a combat kit i keep for emergencies, and i must admit this was a nice addition for the price. as others said its not a dueling sword you arent gonna fend off many blade wielding attackers, however it does what it needs to.
i did have to sharpen it with one of those hand sharpeners, a few passes and it was good enough. the tip is extremely sharp out of the box, as are the serrated edges.
however even without a razor sharp blade it easily passed the watermelon test. one quick swipe and a clean cut straight through. (also an apple core. tossed and sliced in mid air)
only problem, thats been mentioned before, is that the cord wraped handle is display purposes only. my first no contact swing caused it to almost come out of my hand; my advice? get some grip tape (like for hockey sticks) and wrap it OVER the cord, ensuring complete handle coverage and you will fid that this is one decent last resort/close quarters/stealth weapon.

With just a week of practice, I was spinning it almost as well as Kroenen ;) My only complaint is that the paint flakes off on the bottom of the handle. I use a sharpie to color it back in every so often. One cool feature that they didn't mention is that the cap on the handle unscrews, so you could put something in there like matches or a small survival kit or plutonium... use your imagination. All in all, I would definatly recomend this prouct. I am going to buy another one soon.

(More customer reviews)First off, I'm not sure why everyone is talking about hitting tree's with this. The only reason to hit a tree with a sword is for conditioning of your palms and getting your wrists accustomed to the shock factor. Even that would only last a short time.
Anyway the reason this PRODUCT is a five is because it is worth the amount. (It would be much more accurate to call it a short sword, the product description clears states that it is only just over two feet long.) Obviously it doesn't compare to handmade katanas, but few "swords" under twenty dollars outlast anything other than sitting on a wall. Hence the higher rating.
Yes, the sheath is not well made. The tip is actually quite sharp and will tear holes in it.
No, it is not "razor sharp". People need to realize that all generic factory swords come with a knife style edge. That's not how a sword edge was designed to be. Long story short; YOU WILL NEVER FIND A SWORD THAT IS "RAZOR SHARP" THAT ISN'T TRADITIONALLY HANDMADE AND SHARPENED. And those cost hundreds at the very cheapest.
Someone stated it's too thin or light to do any damage in a fight and you would be better off with a pocket knife or your fists or some such nonsense. This is ridiculous American rationalized bull. Many Chinese swords are thiner, lighter and more flexible than this product. If that says nothing to you, I've proved my point.
This is obviously not a short sword made for sword snobs, but it's totally acceptable for the price and bloody rad for fantasy fanatics. The end.
