(More customer reviews)This athame is everything I was looking for. Shiny blade, simple design but with a formal quality about it. Not sharp enough to be considered "sharp" but it does come to a nice point. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a simple, elegant athame.

This is a beautifully simple and classic design, reminiscent of the heavy swords carried by the Gaelic people during the middle ages. These swords often had an openring pommel, which now is associated with their weaponry. The traditional Irish styling makes a wonderful display or costuming piece, or a serviceable athame or ritual knife. 15.75" overall with a 9.5" stainless steel blade, this dagger features pewter toned ring pommel and straight guard. The grip and sheath are both of resin moulded into a pebble-leather texture. The sheath is detailed with pewter toned fittings. This piece is not shipped sharp, and is not sturdy enough for stage or live-steel action, but its graceful and understated design is perfect for costuming, display, or ritual use. The knife and sheath are black. New in box, no problems.
