(More customer reviews)I got this for my 25 year old brother who has everything. Well he did NOT have this, and had a great time last Christmas playing around with it and coming up with great ways to ambush people with it.
I hope you know, but this is NOT a self-defense weapon, it's a NOVELTY!!! It's a cool way to show off to your friends since it IS a working umbrella but the handle unscrews to a slightly sharp, thin blade (which I suppose one could potentially sharpen it really sharp if he was a spy or something).
Great construction, seems durable enough for my brother. I recommend it!

(More customer reviews)Buy some of these. They work, they are wonderful, they mesmerize. Kids love them but it seems that adults are even more impressed. They literally fly up and away visibly for miles. Every time I light one, people want to buy some off me. Not kidding. I have not had one accident or close call yet and have lauched about 30 of them. The paper cannot be made to burn (I tried to as a test it). It drifts up into the sky quickly and never seems to come down until it has burnt out. Go to "You-tube" and search for sky lantern and you will see what I mean. Have fun.
On a clear night it can go for about 10 minutes.
