This is the original German Army issue pistol, which Bond only used in the very early films. the safety catch is molded into the slide. Most of the gun is metal, aside from the grips, which are plastic. If you let the slide close too fast you risk cracking the plastic, but it will hold even with a crack. all together, it is a good little piece of history
