The metal part is bent near the handle so the blade isn't even entirely straight with the handle- probably lack of decent manufacturing. the sawback is not sharpened or able to be used for anything. the sawback is just for show. i would get one of the logner samurai kind of swords as a machete. which i did purchase and am happy with
