(More customer reviews)This is a basic arming cap and works well for my German Sallet. I don't know how period it looks but it works great for my re-ennacment. Sturdy and thick, it will protect you from light blows. You will require better padding on your helmet than just this if you plan to take some heavy blows. This is a good strting point for LARP or just plain costuming.
