M-Tech Spider Folding Knife Skeletal Silver Review

The knife was cheaply built, and has the overall feel of a children's toy. The knife opens smooth, and has a decent locking mechanism, only downside to it, is that the lock, is actually the handle, so when you are putting the blade back into its resting position, u have to actually shift, thus most likely leading to a lesser lasting knife. My summary and overall rating is a 3 out of 5. If your into collecting, its nice, if you plan on using it day to day, m-tech is not your brand.

SOG Specialty Knives & Tools TF-1 Trident, Black TiNi Review

very high quality knife for the money.
SOG's locking mechanism is very secure and easy to use. the assisted opening is smooth and fast. after a day of messing around, i could open and close the knife with both hands as easy as scratching my behind
the blade is a good size and cuts through most things well. however, i personally would prefer a sharper blade
SOG's zytel handle grips well and sits comfortably in my medium/large paws
the WORST part of this knife for me was the extra opening for cutting string/etc . . . unless you are cutting thin twine or fishing line it doesnt work very well
the BEST part of the knife, besides the lock action, is the clip. people see it and think, how in the turkey gravy are you going to concealed carry a knife with a 5" handle? simple. it is very thin and the clip is on the very end of the handle. it slips into your pants, leaving only the attractively styled "SOG" clip hanging out. the clip for mine (black TiNi) is also a dull black, hiding it from all but the most prying knives.
the clip is also NOT somewhere in the middle of the knife, a rather ridiculous feature of some CKRT, buck, and camillus knives. why would you EVER want 1/4 of your knife sticking out for the world to see? not to mention some of the knives from those manufacturers are almost as fat as a hot dog sausage. before i owned my knife i never really knew what to look for. now that i have my SOG that tucks securely into my pocket and out of prying eyes, i get a laugh out of other not-as-well thought out knives . .SOG is a great product for the money. jsut to try out different and better things, my next knife shall be a benchmade.

Blending elements from the Bowie, Tomcat, SEAL Pup, and Flash Series knives, SOG Specialty Knives and Tools has created a new breed of folding knife: the TF-1 Trident Knife with partially-serrated blade and black TiNi coating. Designed for use by Navy SEALs, the TF-1 features SOG's grooved handle, which allows you to cut heavy cord and cable without having to open the specially designed blade. The TF-1's blade is easy to open and features Arc-Actuator technology, which helps the blade lock more strongly and release more easily.
S.A.T. propels the blade open for quick, safe, one-handed access. View larger.SOG Assisted Technology Increases Speed, Safety, and UsabilityFast, safe, single-handed opening makes SOG Trident Series knives incredibly easy to handle in a wide variety of situations. When you go to unfold the TF-1's blade, SOG's proprietary S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) takes over. High-tension coil springs propel the blade open, so you can easily access it with just one hand.
S.A.T. knives offer security and peace of mind with their locking mechanisms that are stronger, more reliable, and easier to access than other knives'. For Trident Series knives, this means the blade is held in place with a reliable piston lock that can be quickly released with a sliding button. An additional safety lock offers extra security when the blade is closed, and for easy reference, the lock switch shows red when the knife is ready to be opened.
Cryogenic Heat Treatment and TiNi Coating Guarantee a Sharp, Durable BladeThe TF-1 offers a full, 3.75-inch, AUS8 stainless steel blade that has undergone SOG's patented Cryogenic Heat Treatment process, which ensures that this blade will stay sharp over the long haul. This intensive process takes more than 48 hours and involves slowly reducing the blade's temperature to less than -300 degrees Fahrenheit, then slowly heating the blade to room temperature. The stress created by this process strengthens the steel on an atomic level and increases the blade's overall durability and edge retention.
In addition to having undergone the Cryogenic Heat Treatment Process, this knife is coated in proprietary titanium nitride (TiNi), of the toughest coatings that can be applied to steel. TiNi boasts extreme hardness, is exceptionally scratch and peel resistant, helps increase steel's longevity, and ensures low reflectivity.
Ergonomic, Lightweight Design Ensures Comfortable UseEven if your blade is sharp, it's hard to make precise cuts if your knife doesn't fit comfortably in your hand. That's why this knife's handle is ergonomically contoured. Crafted from tough, glass-reinforced Zytel, the handle is well-balanced and features SOG's unique Digi-Grip texturing, a feature that gives you gripping power where you need it most. Additionally, SOG's grooved handle allows you to cut heavy cord and cable without having to open the blade.
At just 3.6 ounces, this folding knife is lightweight and easy to carry. A reversible, bayonet-mounted clip extends from the back of the handle, allowing the knife to sit low in your pocket for the most discreet carry possible. The removable clip is easily switched for right/left hand-carry.
This knife is backed by a lifetime warranty that protects against defects in manufacturing and materials.

Serrated Pocket Folding Knife Large Review

The first thing I noticed about this knife, was the weight. Don't misunderstand me here, it's not obnoxiously heavy but it does have a little heft which tells me it's made to last. I've only had it for a few weeks, but this little bugger has stood up to every test I've thrown at it. Literally.
The blade itself is a nice 2.5-3" with an inch serrated towards the handle. Excellent placement for it too, keeps it around but not in the way. The straight edge portion has stayed quite sharp, and I've used it to cut just about everything from flooring to meat, and I've really been amazed that as I've used it to chisel tiles clean it hasn't noticeably dulled at all.
The handle is tough, but just like any other folding knife be careful around sand. I really don't have anything bad to say about this knife. And for the price, I don't think you'll find a better deal anywhere.
