New Sog Knives Sogfari Machete 18" Black Powder Coated Finish Straight & Saw Back Edge Nylon Sheath Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this machete based on a couple reviews I had read and the fact that it can be had for very cheap. Boy what a mistake. I found out very quickly just how substandard this machete is. The blade bent just by chopping a few 1/2" shrubs during a walk in the jungle and then broke completely in half when trying to hack a dead log. Absolutely worthless for anything other than lawn work. And it may be worthless for even that. I wouldn't take another SOGfari if it was given to me. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this item so you don't end up like me, in the jungle having to use your knife as an improvised machete.

20" Black Steel Machete w/ Sheath Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This thing is cheap! And I mean cheaply made, cheaply packed (in the wrong size sheath) and made from sheet metal. The grips are hollow hard plastic and it's a piece of garbage. You get what you pay for, but in this case you get even less.
It was kind of sharp, but the blade wasn't even sharpened all the way to the end. It's super flexible and I would never trust those hard grips to stay attached after any kind of real use.
It might work for light use but overall it's very cheap.

Brand new camping/backpacking machete. Very useful for clearing a space to camp or to cut through tough undergrowth. The blade is made of carbon steel (the steel goes all the way to the bottom of the handle in one piece!). It has a comfortable plastic handle and a nylon sheath with belt-loop.
