(More customer reviews)Musashi's SS-783 is the premium version of their best selling sub $100 katana, the SS-676. Let me tell you this is the BEST sub $100 katana on the market. I own a few Hanwei pieces and was surprised just how much sharper this katana was out of the box. ---Fittings are tight and well made
---Blade is super sharp, haven't even put the whet stone to it yet
---Full tang, double pegged
---Bo hi, makes katana much lighter,(though the weight is necessary for some heavier duty cutting)Based on some other reviews on other sites I thought I was gonna have to tighten the handle and some of the fittings but not so! This katana is ounce for ounce the best you're gonna get. I will say though, do not spend more than $80 on this piece. You can find it at a lot of online outlets in the $60-$80 range. Some sellers have this blade marked up quite a bit on Amazon!

Handmade, the blade is thick and comes extremely sharp. Like the more expensive models this blade can even be bent 45 degrees. To keep costs low the tsuba on this model is made with a machine process instead of using a handmade tsuba (as seen on the Elite series). The tsuba and other fittings look very good and are well suited for this model. This sword is well balanced and the tight handle wrap feels great. Comes complete with a black cotton storage bag and Musashi retail box.
