Just to inform you, I bought this sword just because i always wanted to have a medieval sword, sort of a little video game fancy of mine (Zelda, if you must know). This product is well worth it if you want something that's cheap, looks good mounted on a wall or with a costume, and is relatively sturdy. It meets all these criteria and passes with flying colors. And the blade is not sharp at all, neither is the tip. In fact, the edge is so dull yet smooth that you can run your fingers over it and will not get cut (I actually tried it stupidly)! If you're looking for a sharp instrument, then this is not for you. It's perfect for me though, because I do not want such a large object having sharp edges in my apartment. It would be a little risky, even if kept in a safe place. The handle is make up of quality wood and is very sturdy and allows a good grip.
Any way, the only thing I have to complain about regarding this sword is that the brass portion of it (the part that forms a cross in the middle, linking the blade with the handle) is not very shiny and had some scratches that could not be removed. They're barely noticeable at a distance, but I examined it up-close and you can see them. Again, it's what I'd expect from a $25 forty inch long sword made abroad! It's also a bit heavy, but again, it's not meant for combat so it's OK as far as I'm concerned. Overall, very well worth it for the price!
