have not put it to the watermelon test and not going to. im very confadent it would pass. im happy with it

Shirasaya literally translated means white katana, implying a featureless katana bearing no decoration. Sometimes constructed to be disguised as walking canes during a period where the only people bearing arms were samurai. This plain unstained unpainted katana bears little to no decoration other than the natural wood grain from which it was created; ready to be painted and decorated. The wooden saya (scabbard) is plain wood grain accented only by the black buffalo horn koiguchi (scabbard mouth) and houses a hand forged carbon steel blade. The blade has been buffed to a mirror polish finish and hand sharpened to a razor edge, equipped with a thick natural hi (blood groove) appearing on both blade sides. No tsuba (guard) separates the tsuka (handle) and blade, the tsuka carries the same natural wood grain with two bamboo menuki (wooden pegs). Measures 40 inches closed, 39.5 inches open with a 29 inch blade length and a 18/64 blade thickness. Weighs 2lbs 5oz closed and 1lb 12oz open.
