I have used this blade for over a year so have come to know it well. So let me say right off that i really like this blade, it is of a length that is practical for actual use "in the field" so to speak. I train regularly outdoors with this blade &
have put it through abuses that would break blades of lesser quality. What makes this one special is it's specialized construction. I like to think of it as the "44 magnum" of swords. Short compact easy to carry about, yet powerful. The blade makes up for what it lacks in length in weight. The extra thick heavy blade powers through whatever is unfortunate enough to cross it's cutting path. yet, with practice, can be wielded with finesse .... i have used this to cut mosquito's in half. No, this is not a blade for beginners, one should be adept at the art before picking up this piece. This blade can lop a live 8ft pine tree in half with one cut, so yeah....it does cut well. My blade has not been "lovingly used" .... it is in fact a little battered & bruised yet is still battle worthy with only one very small chip in the cutting edge. The fit & finish on this piece is very nice, but no, it is not a "work of art" to be hung on the wall & admired..... it is a tool of war to be mastered through the rigors of daily use.
So there you go.... it is compact fast powerful & practical.... everything i want in my blade.
