(More customer reviews)I bought one for my wife who uses a cane. I was really surprised by how sturdy and solid this cane is. It can really take weight. My wife thinks it is maybe too heavy. She doesn't like that the handle is round -- it tends to roll when leaned on chairs, walls, etc. I don't think that is that big a deal. The blade is pretty long, as you can see. People are really surprised when the blade and handle are removed (you have to unscrew it). You should know the blade is not sharp. If you think you could cut an apple, potato or someone ... uh, someTHING else, you will have a hard time with this one. You could run the edge of the blade on your hand all day and not be cut. The blade tip does have a point, I imagine you could stab it in to something. The handle is not wood but metal painted to look like wood. It is still very attractive though. In summary, it is good looking, sturdy, possibly a little too heavy, and the blade is not good for cutting if you ever really need that type of thing. Regardless of the blade, it is a nice cane. I am glad I bought it.

(More customer reviews)I must say, I am very impressed with this item. The quality is better than you'd expect from the price. It is a metal cane with a steel blade. Though the blade is not sharpened it will do damage if you happen to make contact with skin during a swing. The blade itself sits in the cane handle nicely, but it is a little loose. Not to bad, but enough that a full on swing with contact will either loosen it so it won't work right, or will break off of the handle. The blade is durable though.
It was scheduled to arrive in 3 weeks. It arrived in 1. Very fast delivery.
My only objection to it (not really an objection) is that is DOES have Swastikas on it. And by on it, I mean all over it. However, that doesn't take away from how nice it looks.
Overall, a very good purchase for any cane sword fans.

(More customer reviews)Considering the price I did not expect to receive a treasure, but I am not totally pleased. The shaft is loose in the Band, so I must hold the top Band with one hand, and the lower Band with the other hand. It is awkward to say the least. Also the shaft is hollowed-out far more than the shape of the blade, so you can hear it clanging when you use it as a cane. That defeats the whole purpose of "hiding the blade". It is light and has a relatively good finish.

G12 K390 Red Nodachi Sword Review

(More customer reviews)As a big fan of the Zatoichi movies, I was totally psyched to own a Zatoichi-style shikimizue (cane sword). When the sword arrived (via UPS), I was slightly underwhelmed by the quality of the piece. But for what I paid, I shouldn't have expected any better.
The blade is slightly sharpened with a nice finish. I wouldn't swing it around too much because I doubt it's a full tang blade. When sheathed, the sword looks more like a straight katana sans handguard than an actual cane. It will still make a nice ornamental piece that'll blend well with my collection of old canes and umbrellas.
My biggest problem with the quality of the item is a cheap, gold-painted piece of plastic at the very end of the blade (towards the handle) that says "CHINA" in big letters. This lame piece of plastic gives away the low-quality of the sword.
As a disclaimer to anyone who thinks this sword bares any resemblance to Zatoichi's sword, it does not. There are other, more accurate reproductions of Zatoichi's sword from both the old movies and the remake, but those will cost you at least 5 times the price of this one. Overall, a good decorative piece for the money.

Fiendish Dragon Sword Cane Review

(More customer reviews)Nice cane. Cool red eys and 'crystal ball' in the dragons mouth. The head is much cooler than I thought (it's a dark tinted silver). Also, a big plus over the others is that it screws in. Others have a button which may seem easier, but it makes it flimsy. The only beef I have with this is that once screwed in, the blade can hit the sides of the hollow shaft through motion. I was toying with the idea of placing someing inside the hollow steel shaft to keep the blade from hitting the shaft. Hmm, styrofoam maybe...

Bamboo Stick Sword Review

(More customer reviews)This is not made of bamboo. It's some other wood that's scored and then spray-painted. -ugh- It's truly hideous to look at.
Also, the one I received is split for about three inches at the opening of the scabbard - low quality-control.
The blade seems pretty heavy-duty (stamped China near the hilt). It actually has a good weight and a nice, slight curve to it, although the scabbard is perfectly straight. The steel is cheap, but I figured it would be cheap when I ordered it for less than $30.
At this price, I was prepared for slipshod workmanship and a lower-quality steel, but I was NOT prepared for the weird spray-paint job. For the price, bamboo would actually have been cheaper to construct.
I'm confused that it isn't made of bamboo, but I'm not going to bother to return it. I'll just sand the whole thing down and refinish the whole scabbard and handle, add some reinforcement to shore up the split in the wood, and generally re-make the whole thing.
In my humble opinion, the blade is worth the price I paid, even though it's going to take a lot of work to make the scabbard and handle reasonable. (I'm glad I bundled this one in with other items, so I didn't take a big hit on the shipping.)
Bottom line - it's not a quality item when it comes out of the box, so don't buy it as a gift for someone; however if you're reasonably crafty, you can probably salvage it.
