(More customer reviews)Well, got this knife figuring on a hunk of junk only good for what I had been intending it for, which was cutting Scotch Tape. Low and behold, it's actually a pretty decent knife. Bit on the small side, but holds well in the hand, especially if you use the finger loop, and very controllable, As with all non-extreme-shape Hawksbills I've run across to date, it is good for precise cutting.
The downsides are, it came with one screw missing on the hilt, not a major concern for me, the hilt plates are still secure, and 2, the knife does dull a bit just from pulling it out of the kydex sheath simply because the edge rubs on the inside as you pull the knife out.
The knife snaps into the sheath pretty securely, it won't fall out at all even with a good shake, and the knife sharpens well, holds an edge pretty well, other than the above problem, which really isn't avoidable with this blade shape in a plastic sheath. The knife fits well in my admittedly large hands, and while it hardly fills my hand, it isn't a nub either. Put my index finger through the finger hole, and I lose all concerns about knife slippage during any kind of tricky cutting like when trying to cut tape on a box without cutting what's inside the box. Always a worry.
Overall, I'd have to say this turned out to be a lot better of a purchase than I anticipated, thinking of getting another 1 or 2 as backups in case something happens to the one I have now. Always good to have a backup.
