I have been wanting one of these since the mid 90's. Last week I thought about looking it up on Amazon and the price was right!
Pro's: It's scary! The retractable guards swing into place with little effort and stay put. Solid assembly, everything is tight. The tang is a half length push style, it goes to where the handle begins to taper towards the pommel. Tang is secured by 3 hex screws in triangle formation (see product pictures). The sheath is a nice heavy grain leather that compliments this knife very well.
Cons: Handle is small, my hands are on the large side and this thing feels like a childs toy in my hand, especially as the grip tapers towards the bottom. The plastic used in the handle is not dense enough in my opinion. Should have more rubber in the compound. The balance is top heavy, probably due to half length tang and diminutive grip. It just does not feel as bad ass in the hand as it looks. If you choose to wear this on your belt, the spiked pommel will catch your arm as you move. The handle has some fit and finish issues, the edges of the mold has a lot of extra material that needs to be trimmed off. The halves of the handle do not line up very well. The blade itself is not symmetrical if you look closely. The stamping of the steel is symmetrical but the angle from the spine to the cutting edges are not.
Bottom line: At this price, why not? It is a fun conversation piece that is truly unique. Try not to have lofty expectations though.
