(More customer reviews)Taylor Cutlery imports knives for Smith & Wesson, and many of them aren't worth commenting on, though they don't represent horrible buys. There are some, like the Extreme Ops Hawkbill, that are bargains mostly because they were intended to sell for considerably more. Even though I've carried many other, better known knives, this one has become a favorite. The weight, balance, quality and blade configuration make it a good choice for everyday chores such as opening packages and letters to sharpening pencils. This knife also does well around the yard for small pruning jobs and can even cut vine. The curved blade tends to gather and cut, making any type of cutting job safer and easier. The blade is large enough for any work, but may not be legal to carry everywhere. But it does have a nice belt clip and can also be carried easily in a pocket. A serrated version also is available, which is good for cutting wood and for heavier work. For paper, however, it will tend to tear. I have both and use both. Edge retention is surprisingly good on this particular model.
